JAMMU, Apr 26: To encourage the theatre activities in city and give boost to the will of theatre enthusiasts, Natraj Natya Kunj Jammu today inaugurated one month actor training workshop named as “An Actor Prepares” with the lightning of the traditional lamp here at studio Ranglok Bakshi Nagar, here today.
The workshop is being conducted by National Sangeet Natak Akademi Yuva Bismillah Khan awardee Abhishek Bharti and Aaditya Bharti an alumnus of Department of Indian Theatre, Panjab University Chandigarh.
While inaugurating the workshop, President of the group Kumar A.’Bharti’ who initiated this idea to organize a workshop in city, said that the reason of conducting the workshop was because the young talent needs to know the ground realities of Theatre so that it helps the students to discover their talent and experience enormous learning.
The workshop which will be a three hour session every day for a month will involve basics of Theatre Acting techniques like body movements, speech work, Natya Shastra, Scenic design, Stage craft, imagination, observation as well as make the participants aware about the importance of coordination with the co-actors during the play.
Rakesh Dogra, Vice President of the group said “We have streamlined the sessions with precision which will help the participants polish their acting skills in a way, to let them perform on stage with a confidence”.
While inaugurating the workshop advisor of the group Dr Rajinder Thapa said “By this workshop, we are trying to change the typical thinking of youths about the Dramatics. It is an effort to make them aware about the reality and richness in this field and that it can be pursued as a career option”.
