JAMMU, Mar 6: Natrang artist Vrinda Gujral has brought pride to J&K State by winning the national scholarship in Theatre from Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Vrinda Gujral will undergo theatre training under the eminent Theatre Director of Indian Theatre, Balwant Thakur.
She will continue to receive this award of National Scholarship every year till she attains the age of 20.
A handout stated that every year thousands of young artists compete for this prestigious national honour and Vrinda is the only girl from J&K who has been awarded this scholarship in the field of Theatre.
Vrinda Gujral, 1st runner up position in the popular TV show ‘Sabse Bada Kalakar’ in the year 2017 was born to Ashu and Manish Gujral. She has started her acting career from Natrang’s Children Theatre workshops and later got selected for Natrang’s blockbuster plays like ‘Mere Hisse Ki Dhoop Kahan Hai’ and ‘Aap Hamare Hain Kaun’ both written and directed by Balwant Thakur in which she has won accolades for her outstanding performances in series of National Theatre Festivals held in Chandigarh, Delhi, Amritsar, Jallandhar, Tejpur, Jabalpur and Bhopal.
Besides these plays, she has done Bawa Jitto, A midsummer night’s dream, Oliver Twist, 11th Hour, Remix, Loktantra Ka Mantra and Party Toh Banti Hai.
