JAMMU, Dec 25: Natrang  Winter Theatre Workshop for Children-2017 was inaugurated with the lighting of traditional lamp by the Director of Natrang, Padamshree Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre, here today. The workshop is being conducted by Vikram Sharma who is a trained actor from world’s prestigious institute Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York USA and assisted by Mohd Yaseen, National Scholarship holder from Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. The major faculty of this workshop include senior actor/director Neeraj Kant and Sumeet Sharma-a post graduate in Dramatics who has also been conferred the National Award for direction in theatre i.e., Yuva Bismillah Khan Sangeet Natak Akademi Award.
Speaking on the occasion, Natrang Director,  Padamshree Balwant Thakur informed that this unique camp would provide a rarest opportunity to children to enable them to explore their immense inner creative and artistic abilities.
The timings of the camp will be 11 am to 1 pm daily and they will have the occasion to get trained under professionally trained directors of Natrang.
Elaborating further, Balwant Thakur informed that every year Natrang gives an opportunity to children to enjoy their Christmas break with learning beyond the textbooks. Similarly this year too, Natrang will have a twelve day winter camp for children where they will learn and explore personality development, confidence building, communication skills, acting, stagecraft and much more with the help of highly latest theatre exercises developed in Europe and USA.
Natrang takes pride in the fact that best of the child artists of the country are being produced in Natrang’s training process.
The participants who attended the inaugural session included Vrinda Gujral, Sumedha Manhas, Kushaan Baliya, Aditya Raj Singh, Mannan Soni, Rudra Kohli, Saanvi Anand, Sanchoyita Chatterjee, Vartik Mahajan, Mannat Soni, Gauri Vaid, Gayatri Vaid, Sia Nagpal, Vihaan Aditya Gupta, Kyra Nagpal, Simran Naug, Harsh Dogra, Soujanya Sharma and Akhilesh Singh.
