JAMMU, May 9: Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president today said that the successive regimes of Congress and National Conference (NC) who ruled J&K for about six decades deprived the people of Jammu and Kashmir of benefits of development.
The senior BJP leader was speaking during his visit to Panchayat Mora Sarah of village Pargalta on the outskirts of Jammu city. Haroon Chowdhery, Parbhari BJP ST Moarcha, Mohan Lal Verma, Sarpanch and OBC president, Bajalta Mandal, Ajay Sharma Bajalta Mandal president, Abdul Hussain, Jammu district ST president, Sunny Sharma, Bajalta Mandal general secretary, Attar Hussain Bajalta, Mandal president ST accompanied the senior BJP leader.
Yudhvir Sethi came down heavily on the NC, the PDP and the Congress, saying they have kept J&K hostage for more than seven decades and alleged that the two families conspired to deprive people of development. He expressed gratitude to the PM Modi for abrogating Art 370 which has stalled the development process in Jammu and Kashmir and deprived people of their rights in the last over 70 years.
Sethi said that few dynast families devastated J&K in whatever way they could without paying any heed towards people’s miseries. “Corruption and nepotism used to rule the roost during NC, Congress and PDP’s regimes as these parties seldom care of people and their problems”, he said, adding that the people of Panchayat Mora Sarah are the proof of that and the inhabitants of Mora Sarah are still deprived of basic amenities.
The senior BJP leader assured the people of the area that their basic issues related to road, power and water will be resolved by taking up with the administration on priority basis. He said that BJP will be remembered for its historic step to remove Article 370 in the times to come and people of J&K will remain grateful to the party for accomplishing this near impossible task of freeing up the region from the clutches of this contentious provision of Constitution.
Yudhvir Sethi said BJP believes in the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas, asking people of the area to strengthen the hands of PM Modi in the upcoming polls and wipe out such persons who only focus on vote bank politics.
