NC, Cong harbingers of peace, development: Kichloo

KISHTWAR, Apr 11: Minister of State for I&C and Home, Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, while highlighting the achievements of the NC-Congress Government, said that NC-Congress Coalition Government had firmly put J&K on course for becoming a truly developed State. He added that both BJP and PDP were running away from realty by denying the good work done by the Coalition Government.
The Minister was addressing several public meetings here today for garnering support for Ghulam Nabi Azad, the Congress-NC candidate from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency. Senior district NC leaders Imtiyaz Ahmad Zargar, Ghulam Rasool Magray, Mohammad Aslam Dev, Shabir Ahmad Kamal and Rajinder Sen were also present on the occasion.
Asking people to elect Ghulam Nabi Azad and other coalition candidates in the coming Lok Sabha elections in the State, Kichloo stated that the UPA Government has been the real harbinger of peace and development in the country.
Kichloo accused the BJP of being power hungry and using all available means to demonize the Congress and its UPA allies in the coming Lok Sabha elections. “They have been out of power for over a decade now. The excellent work done by UPA I & II will keep them on the sidelines for another 5 years,” the Minister said, adding BJP’s delay in announcing its election manifesto was a clear manifestation of its internal contradictions. He also criticized the PDP for creating hurdles in the development of the State and raising issues that have a direct bearing on the safety and security of the State.
Praising Ghulam Nabi Azad for his significant contribution in development of health infrastructure across the State, the Minister highlighted the huge steps taken by J&K in Health sector that has been recognized at various fora. “People will always remember the contribution of Ghulam Nabi Azad in the development of the State both in the capacity of Union Minister or State’s former Chief Minister,” he added.
