NC leaders exhort youth to get ready for big political role

JAMMU, Jan 28: Senior National Conference leaders today exhorted youth to play their useful role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir, saying divisive and opportunistic politics has brought the State at cross roads of its history.
“Our secular foundations are at peril”, General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar said while greeting the newly nominated office bearers of Youth National Conference District Rajouri Rural at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning.
Mr Sagar referred in detail the challenges confronted to the State, especially in the wake of political uncertainty unfolded by the PDP-BJP combine due to indecision in forming the Government, and hoped that the youth will take lead in steering it out of the morass.
Greeting the new committee, Provincial President Devender Singh Rana cautioned youth against threat to the very idea of secular Jammu and Kashmir, saying elements inimical to unity are out to trample this unique ethos.
He said National Conference is determined to fight all such forces which are against the pluralistic way of life, and urged youth to come forward shoulder this onerous responsibility in a big way. He said the youth have a vast field ahead of them in serving the people and building a vibrant and prosperous state.
Earlier, the Provincial Youth National Conference President Ajaz Jan announced the reconstituted body, as approved by the party high command.
He nominated Jatinder Singh as District President of the Youth National Conference District Rajouri Rural and Choudhry Shafyat Bhatti as District Secretary.
While Lokesh Sharma, Shokit Mehmood, Aman Khajuria, Ram Singh, Harish Bharti and Abdul Afu Tawib were nominated as Vice Presidents, Tarun Sagyal, Rameshwar Singh, Mohd Aslam, Shakti Pal, Naresh Singh Jamwal ( Banti ), Deep Sharma will be Organising Secretaries.
Jatinder Pal Singh, Taranvir Singh, Ishtaqt Ahmed, Sardar Dhara Singh, Danish Singh, Baldev Singh, Parveen Singh and Pawan Kumar have been nominated as District Joint Secretaries while Sudesh Suri will be District Cashier.
Mr Jan nominated Abinandan Singh, Amit Sharma and Sahil Abrol as Media Incharge.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included former ministers Mohammed Akbar Lone, Mir Saif-ullah, State Secretary Th Rachpal Singh, Provincial National Conference Secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed and District President Rajouri Bushan Uppal.
