JAMMU, Mar 11: National Conference leader Anil Dhar today castigated PDP and BJP for playing mischief with Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill, as it had been originally piloted by National Conference.
In a statement, Mr Dhar said that when the Bill was brought in the State Legislature during Ghulam Nabi Azad led Government, the PDP created obstacles and now that it was likely to get passage BJP came in the way with some hidden agenda.
He said that NC has always espoused the cause of Kashmiri Pandits, who were rallying behind the party due to its secular credentials. He described the role of BJP as hypocratic, especially in respect of the Bill. “Their double standards have been fully exposed and the displaced people from Kashmir know who their friend is and who the foe”, he added.
Dhar also lamented over PDP and BJP shedding crocodile tears for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits but actually working against their interests.
