SRINAGAR, Mar 29: Maintaining that the National Conference has always projected the cause of people of the State and rendered innumerable sacrifices for the same, the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayat and senior National Conference leader Ali Mohammad Sagar today said that the leaders of PDP have always hatched conspiracies against the interests of the people for promoting their political and personal agendas.
Sagar was addressing a huge gathering at Rainawari in the Old City here. It was attended by several leaders of National Conference and eminent persons of the area.
Sagar said that the people are fully aware of the fact that patron of the PDP has been responsible for ensuring enactment of several draconian laws which have inflicted miseries on the people of the State. He said that it is a recorded fact that the person has also played negative role through out his political carrier by ensuring toppling of several democratically elected Governments of the State for his own ulterior political motives.
Taking a dig at the hypocritical attitude of the PDP for trying to promote themselves as champions of the Srinagar city, Sagar said that the people are aware of the fact that various land mark projects for ensuring development of the historic city where put in back burner during their regime and people were subjected to worst form of political victimization. He said that quite recently they had opposed tooth and nail the on spot police recruitment of the youth of the city and had even raised the issue in the Assembly as well.
Referring to the statements of the PDP viz a viz the K issue, Sagar said that the party is a group of political opportunist who keep on changing their colours like chameleons to suit their political interests as they have never ever raised the issue while in power whereas National Conference has always advocated for the peaceful resolution of the same.
He said that the PDP is trying to hoodwink the people by telling lies spreading falsehood but the people are well aware of their political mechanization and would ensure their defeat in the coming elections.
