NEW DELHI, July 13:
National Conference will support the UPA’s candidate for the post of Vice President, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said today.
He rejected reports quoting his tweet that his party had shown discomfort about the UPA candidate and said “I write my tweets myself.
“What I had said is that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh spoke to Union Minister and party President Farooq Abdullah during which the name was discussed and it was agreed till the UPA meeting takes place, the name will not be made public.
“However, when I found the name as a part of some party release, I said this should not have happened.
“I have no problem with the UPA candidate and our party will support the candidature,” he said and added his father would be attending tomorrow’s meeting of UPA. (PTI)
