Need for moral education

Sir,
Morality and character of citizens are contributory factors in minimising the wave of corruption that has been maligning our political, economical and social edifice to a grate extent. Unlawful gains, dereliction of duty and transgression of moral and ethical values fall in the family of corruption.
Implementation of rules, in letter and spirit, helps a lot in emancipation from this bad practice. It is social malady and disturbs our economic and social balances. Failing to understand the reality of life and excessive involvement in materialism leads to this evil. When not even a needle can be carried by the soul when the body falls, why a man should incur sin and crime in this transitory life period. Actually moral turpitude in a man is a serious flaw and weakness of one’s personality. Once cultivated, it takes a long time to get rid of it. Real education means making one free from evils, detrimental in a society. Every effort, is therefore, needed to be exercised  to keep our educational system healthy. Therefore, stress on moral education of our youngsters, till they attain full manhood, is of vital importance. Since the character is built through system of education, every endeavour in this direction is considered inadequate and imperative in nature. Simplification of systems, transparency and accountability need to be ensured to remove the slur of corruption. Particularly, in democracy, character of citizens matters most for eradication of such evils.
Yours etc…
