JAMMU, June 2: Neena Parihar of class 12th bagged first place in debate competition, organized by Jammu Asha Kiran Welfare Society at Activity Public Higher Secondary School Janipur, here today.
Muskan Sawhney of Class 8th clinched the second place, while Sahil Koul of 12th class bagged the third place in the competition. These winners were presented mementoes by Manohar Lal Gupta, Managing Director of the School.
The debate competition was held on social evils like Dowry System, Tobacco Use, Female Foeticide and Child Marriage etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr JP Gupta, Chairman of the Society highlighted the aims and objectives of the Society. About 30 teachers and 300 students participated in the competitions.
Chairperson Manohar Lal Gupta, School Principal Rishi Gupta, Vinod Arora and Kamal Netar also spoke on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ved Parkash, Hari Chand, Jaswant Manhas, Raj Kumar, Harbans Sharma, ML Sultan and Kamal Shan.
