BANGALORE : Defence Minister A K Antony today said negotiations are on with China at various levels to resolve the ‘intrusion’ peacefully.
Replying to a question, Mr Antony, who was here to release the Congress manifesto for the May 5 Assembly elections in Karnataka, said ‘this is all I can say at this moment’ and declined to elaborate further.
He said the government will take every step to protect the national integrity.
India has admitted yesterday that it was facing a ‘face to face’ situation after Chinese intrusion in Ladakh sector of India-China border and had asked the neighbouring country to restore
the status quo after the Chinese forces had pitched their tents ten km inside the Indian territory.
“We have asked China to maintain the status quo prior to this incident,” an External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson had said in New Delhi yesterday.
