LONDON, Oct 24: Actor Kim Cattrall said she has never been friends with her “Sex and the City” (SATC) co- stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon.
The 61-year-old actor, who portrayed Samantha Jones in the hit HBO TV series, said she is not in touch with any of the cast members.
“We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues and in some ways it’s a very healthy place to be. I don’t see them. The common ground we had was the series and the series is over,” Cattrall said during an appearance on “Piers Morgan’s Life Stories”.
The actor said she will never take on the role of Samantha again, but admitted she has “no regrets” about the show.
She also said it was sad how she was made out to be the villain in impeding the development of a third film in the franchise and was portrayed as “demanding or a diva” in the media.
Cattrall said, “This is really where I take to task the people from ‘Sex and the City’ and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker, is that I think she could have been nicer. I really think she could have been nicer. I don’t know what her issue is.
“The thing that still bothers me is this feeling of being in some way made to be the baddie. I never asked for any money, I never asked for any projects, to be thought of as some kind of diva is absolutely ridiculous.”
She echoed producer Ryan Murphy’s sentiments, saying if the makers want to go ahead with the film they should cast a different actor to play Samantha in the future. (PTI)
