JAMMU, Sept 10: New Age College and MAM college emerged victorious in the Men’s section of the Inter-Collegiate Badminton Championship, being organised by Department of Sports and Physical Education, Jammu University, at Gymnasium hall here today.
In men’s section today, two matches were played in which New Age College defeated SVNS Degree College, Kathua by 3-0 and MAM College thrashed GCET Jammu by 3-2.
In Women Section, Commerce College beat GCET by 2-0, MIET defeated GDC Hiranagar by 2-0 and GGM Science College beat GWC Udhampur by straight 2-0.
The Matches were officiated by Raju Sharma, Amit Sharma, Vikram Singh Jamwal and Nisha Sharma.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Prof Dhian Singh Bhau, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, Jammu University, in presence of Narayani Jamwal, Malik Ajaz, Romesh Sharma (PTI Campus), Dr Sonam Angchok, Assistant Director, Sanjeev Jamwal, Dr Brij Baloria, Raj Kumar, PD Singh and Jai Bharat.
The tournament is being organised under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra of Department of Physical Education.
