New batch of 485 yatris leave Baltal and Pahalgam base camps

SRINAGAR :  A new batch of 485 pilgrims, including sadhus and women, left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps for Holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir in Himalayas this morning.
A yatra official said the pilgrimage was going on smoothly from both sides.
He said 247 pilgrims, including sadhus and women, left Baltal base camp early this morning to pay obeisance at the holy cave.
Similarly, 238 pilgrims also left Nunwan Pahalgam base camp for the cave shrine.
However, they will have night halt at Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on the traditional route, he said adding the yatris, who had night halt at different station also left the cave.
