JAMMU, Dec 21: New Challenger Cricket Club thrashed Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC), Srinagar by a huge margin of 72 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Club Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School ground, here.
Earlier, batting first, New Challenger Club scored a fighting total of 141 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Ashu top scored with 29 runs, while Sahil Bhalwal and Manjeet contributed with 26 and 25 runs respectively. For RCC, Kuldeep Kumar took 3 wickets, while Sourav and Aman claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, RCC was bundled out for a paltry total of 68 runs in 12 overs, thus lost the match by 72 runs. None of the batsmen could show resistance as Sahil Sharma wrecked havoc by taking 6 important wickets, while Sumit and Vishwajeet claimed 2 wickets each. For his superb bowling display, Sahil Sharma was declared as man of the match.
