JAMMU, Jan 14: Semifinals lineup has been drawn in 3rd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament as New Challenger Cricket Club, RCC Srinagar, Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) and Sarveshwar Cricket Club entered the last four stages, here.
Now, in the semifinals, Jammu Cricket Club will lock horns with Sarveshwar Cricket Club at 9 am, while RCC Srinagar will take on New Challenger Cricket Club at 1 pm tomorrow.
Earlier, in the quarterfinals played today, RCC thrashed I-TEC by 35 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, RCC scored a fighting total of 143 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Suryansh Raina top scored with 37 runs, while Puneet Kumar contributed 29 runs to the total. Ankit Basan and Harsh chipped in with 15 and 14 runs respectively. For I-TEC Cricket Club, Ajay, Vikrant and Vinod claimed 2 wickets each, while Bura and Rajay claimed one wicket each.
In reply, I-TEC managed to score 108 runs in 20 overs, thus lost the match by 35 runs. Vikrant Taggar was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Kaka contributed 28 runs to the total. Kapil chipped in with 14 runs. For RCC Srinagar, Dilbagh took 3 wickets, while Puneet Kumar claimed 2 wickets.
In another match, Sarveshwar Cricket Club defeated Evershine Club by 93 runs in a one-sided affair. Batting first, Sarveshwar Club scored 147 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Gourav Bhatti scored brilliant 52 runs, while Raman Dutta and Vijay Dogra contributed 26 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For Evershine Club, Bansi Lal took 2 wickets, while Hoshiyar, Narender and Bunty claimed one wicket each.
Evershine Cricket Club, in reply, collapsed at 51 runs in 13 overs, thus lost the match by a huge margin of 93 runs. Dheeraj was the only batsman to reach double figures, scoring 19 runs. Vijay Dogra was the pick of the bowlers for Sarveshwar Club, who took 3 important wickets, while Raman Dutta bagged 2 wickets. Pardeep, Keshav and Aman shared one wicket apiece. Vijay Dogra was declared as man of the match.
