JAMMU, July 14: New United Cricket Club (NUCC) outplayed Danny Cricket Club (DCC) in a close contest by a narrow margin of 11 runs in the ongoing KC Sports Clun T20 Cricket Cup, being played at KC School ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, New United Cricket Club set a target of 107 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Surinder, Vinod and Sunny contributed 35, 18 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Danny Cricket Club, Harinder Pal took 3 wickets, while Munish bagged 2 wickets.
While chasing the target, Danny Cricket Club bundled out for 95 runs in 17.1 overs, thus lost the match by 11 runs. Ashok top scored with 24 runs, while Manpreet chipped in with 12 runs. From New United Cricket Club, Sumit Dhar and Vishal captured 3 wickets each, while Surinder and Rohit claimed 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik and Madan Lal as umpires, while Vinod Kandayara was the scorer.
The Tournament, in which 20 top teams of Jammu including affiliated Clubs of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) are taking part, is being held under the overall supervision of Arjun Chowdhary, Managing Director KC Sports Club and the matches are being supervised by Sanjeev Sharma, Organizing Secretary of the Tournament.
