JAMMU, Dec 9: NGR Football Club and Clemart FC registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing 13th Gold Cup Football Tournament, being organised by All J&K Christian Welfare Association, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) at GGM Sciecne College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match of the day, NGR defeated DFA Poonch, while in another match, Clemart FC defeated Churchill Brothers by five goals to one (5-1), For
Clemart FC, Saksham scored the first goal in 30th minute, while Vivek Paul scored two goals in 48th and 68th minutes and Madhav Singh netted another two goals in 66th and 69th minutes. From Churchill Brothers, Basit netted the goal in 64th minute of the match.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Dheeraj Meenia, Ricky, Dil Bahadur, Rahul Sharma, Ajay Singh and Nitika.
In tomorrow’s fixture, J&K SRTC will take on J&K Bank Academy at 1:30 pm, while Sports Saviour will face United Punjab at 3:00 pm.
Varinder Kumar Sharma, President NGR Football Club was the chief guest, while Rohit Bhagat (Chowki Officer Canal Road), Sbastian Saparwal, SM Gill (Ex MLC), David Masih, Yusuf Don (Organizing Secretary), Feastus Sotra, Narinder Gupta (Chairman DFA and Former Member Sports Council), Mohan Lal, Rattan Lal and Mohinder Kalsi were present on the occasion.
