SAMBA, Aug 5: Nature Human Centric People’s Movement (NHCPM) organized a rally against the prevailing danger of nuclear weapons. The procession started from Hari Singh Chowk, passing through main bazaars and concluded at guest house.
The speakers spoke about the various dimensions of nuclear danger while comparing it with global warming etc. They said presently there are 4150 active war heads operationally deployed that can hit any target within minutes and 14935 in stockpile.
These weapons of mass destruction are controlled and owned by only nine countries out of 200 nations of the world. These nine countries are highly anti human and anti nature, they added.
They said these nine countries have common agenda of corporate capitalism to dominate and control world’s natural resources.
The speakers while expressing concern over growing race of nuclear weapons among these countries said the main root of nuclear weaponry development lies in hawkish and jingoistic nationalism that regulates people’s mind set for full supporting the development of mass destructive weapons.
But today challenge of climate change has an upper edge over the nuclear war danger. Nuclear weapon destroys the target while climate change will kill us all slowly but surely.
Those who addressed the  gathering are Karam Chand, Karan Singh, Sourav Sambyal, Jagroop Singh, Dwarika Sharma, Sudershan Khanmotta, Desh Bandhu Sharma.
