NHPC distributes scholarships

JAMMU, Feb 19: NHPC Limited, Regional Office Jammu distributed scholarships worth Rs 21.62 lakhs among 144 students of Government Schools in a simple function presided over by Simrandeep Singh, Director School Education, Jammu in a simple function at Govt Higher Secondary School Bazar Qasaban, here today.
These scholarships were given to the students of Govt Higher Secondary Schools including Bazar Qasaban, Sunjuwan and Bahu Fort and Govt High Schools of Dogra Hall, Sandwan, Chowadi and Bhatyari.
RK Kedia, Chief (HR) from NHPC Limited AND Principals and Headmasters of concerned Schools were present on the occasion.
The distribution of these scholarships are aimed at encouraging parents to send their SC/ST wards and girl students to Schools, lighten their financial burden on School education and sustain their efforts to support their children to complete School education.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Kedia said that NHPC Limited has been taking up many initiatives in the field of Education, Health, Peripheral Development and allied things since 2006 under Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme (CSR) across the country including the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, Simrandeep Singh said that the initiative taken by NHPC Limited will go a long way in obtaining education by the students at the School level, which is need of the hour.
