JAMMU, Nov 15: NHPC Limited organized State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2014 at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here today.
6 students who stood 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each group were awarded Rs 20,000, 15,000 and 10,000 respectively and 20 students were awarded consolation prizes of Rs. 2,500 each in an impressive prize distribution function, presided over by Rehana Batul, Additional Commissioner, Jammu.
NHPC was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing School and State Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation-2014 by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power. These Painting Competitions are part of National Awareness Campaign launched by Ministry of Power for promoting Energy conservation in the country, which is need of the hour.
100 students selected at School Level took part in the Competition.
Vishujeet Singh Sumbaria of BVM High School Ramban, Shakshi Devi of KV No.1, Akhnoor and Vikas Gahlot of Sainik School Nagrota won Ist, IInd and IIIrd prizes respectively from Category-A and Master K Sanchit Rao of Army Public School Jammu Cantt, Janya Pandey of JNV Gharota and Shivan Chauhan of Army Public School Janglot, Kathua claimed first three position respectively from Category-B.
Amongst others, Sr Officers from NHPC Limited, Om Prakash, Executive Director, Amod Agrawal, General Manager, R K Kedia, Chief (HR), M K Kashyap, CE (Civil), V Ranga Rao, Chief (Fin.) and John A U Beck, Sr Manager (HR) and Nodal Officer for J&K State Painting Competition were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Rehana Batul, Additional Commissioner, Jammu said that this is a matter of pride that small school children along with their parents are part of the Energy Conservation Campaign launched by Ministry of Power, Govt of India & Bureau of Energy Efficiency which shall help a long way in power conservation in the country.
