NIA quizzes Er Rashid

SRINAGAR, Aug 4: National Investigation Agency (NIA) today quizzed Awami Ittehad Party chief and former MLA Langate, Er Abdul Rashid for questioning in connection with terror funding.
This is for the second time that Er Rashid has been summoned by the NIA. He was first grilled by the NIA in September 2017. That time he was being probed for possible links with businessman Zahoor Watali, who had been arrested by NIA in the terror-funding case.
The businessman was being probed for his alleged terror links with banned Pakistan-based terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba and its chief Hafiz Sayed, by both the Enforcement Directorate and the NIA.
Meanwhile, United Front leader Shah Faesal has condemned NIA summons to Er Rashid, calling it a deliberate attempt to intimidate the mainstream leadership in J&K.
“It is surprising that a person who was a former MLA is being treated in the most unfair manner,” he said and demanded that NIA should immediately conclude the investigations and send Er Rashid back to Srinagar as entire Kashmir was missing him in this moment of crisis.
