JAMMU, Oct 22: Partnering with NIIT, HPL Bari Brahmana launched computer course to provide computer awareness and education to about 82 students from Fauji Public School at Rajinder Vihar, Patti-Rai Suchani, here.
While welcoming the audience, Lt Col M S Salaria spoke about the need of computer awareness in transforming the educational landscape of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Col Prem Singh, Director, NIIT, Bari Brahmana and Jammu reiterated the need of technology in the present era.
He said, the focus of development in the rural areas should aim at enriching the youth.
Manish Tandon, Regional Manager, HPL, J&K said that the programme will widen the horizons of education as well as future employability for the under privileged students.
Brig S S Jamwal, vice-chairman, J&K league thanked HPL and NIIT for installing computers, providing books and training the students thereby making them the first generation computer learners and taking technology into the classrooms.
Col Kulbir Singh, Col Virender Sahi, Col A S Jamwal, Col D S Salaria, besides Principal, staff and children graced the occasion.
