JAMMU, Apr 27: Nikhil Sunrisers trounced Billa Capital in the finals of Toph Premier League and lifted the title, here today.
The chief guest of the event was J&K BJP’s treasurer Parbhat Singh Jamwal. The chief guest encouraged the younger generation to take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs.
Billa Capitals won the toss and elected to field first. Nikhil Sunrisers while batting first scored 71 runs in the stipulated overs wherein Nikhil- Captain of Nikhil sunrisers scored highest 32 runs. From the bowling side, Sachin and Varun took 1 wicket each.
While chasing 71 runs, Billa Capitals started sensibly but failed to chase the set target and bundled out at 37 runs and lost the match. Nikhil Rajput was declared as man of the match as well as man of the series.
The tournament was organized by Sunil Singh Sumbria and Nikhal Kotwal of Toph Sports Club.
