Nine injured in clash between 2 families

JAMMU, Apr 28: Nine persons were injured today in a clash that broke out between two families at Lower Barnai area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the clash erupted this morning between two families at Nater Kothe in Lower Barnai area over some land dispute. He said family members of both sides first exchanged heated words and later clashed with each other.
The official said members of both the families attacked each other with wooden logs and sharp edged weapons (darats). In the clash, nine persons were injured, some of them severely, the official added.
“The injured were identified as Pardeep Singh (41) son of Hans Raj, Ramesh Singh (48) son of Hans Raj, Kuldeep Singh (42) son of Hans Raj, Jyoti Manhas (36) wife of Ranjeet Singh Manhas, Chanchala Devi (60) wife of Hans Raj, Ranjeet Singh (57) son of Chanchal Singh, Sham Singh (51) son of Chanchal Singh, Yashpal (49) son of Chanchal Singh and Ranjeet Singh (42) son of Hans Raj, all residents of Nater Kothian,” the official added.
He said that all the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment from where Pardeep Singh was later shifted to a private hospital in Amritsar. “A case in this connection was registered at police station Domana and further investigations started”, he added.
