JAMMU, May 6: Nine persons were injured in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, an elderly man identified as Tej Ram (60) son of Sadhu Ram, a resident of Krishna Nagar, Jammu was hit and injured by a bike bearing registration number JK02AH-0459 near Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu.
A pedestrian identified as Kala (40) son of Parshotam Dev (40), a resident of Raipur-Satwari was also injured when an unknown vehicle hit him while crossing the road at Gandhi Nagar. At Last Morh Gandhi Nagar, a scooter hit and injured a lady identified as Santosh Devi (40) wife of Niku, a resident of Bhore Camp, Phlain Mandal.
A pedestrian also received injuries after being hit by an unknown vehicle at Nai Basti near Satwari area of city outskirts. The injured has been identified as Suman Devi (78) wife of Dharam Lal, a resident of Rehari.
A youth identified as Ashwani Kumar (27) son of Munshi Ram and a child namely Aiyan Sharma (7) son of Vinod Kumar, both residents of Bantalab (Nagrota) were also injured when a tipper hit them on National Highway at Nagrota bazaar.
A couple also suffered serious injuries when the scooty they were riding on got slipped at village Daskal in Akhnoor area. The injured have been identified as Rajesh Gupta (45) son of Niwas Gupta, a resident of Akhnoor and his wife Mamta Gupta (42).
A youth identified as Angrez Singh (19) son of Bachchan Singh, a resident of Pargwal was also injured when a tractor-trolley hit him near his residence.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu for treatment. In all the cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
