JAMMU, Sept 14: Nirvana Academy organized fourth season of dance programme “Jammu Dance Icon” here at Abhinav Theatre with the aim to encourage and provide an opportunity to the children, artists and youth of the Jammu region.
RC Puri, Honorary Secretary, IRCS Jammu region, was the chief guest while Mamta Dogra, chairperson, The Shradha Education and Welfare Society and Prabhjot Kour (MA Music) were guests of honour on the occasion. The event was supported by Dance Revolution Academy.

The event commenced with the Dogri dance performance on song “Kunda kun Khadkaya”, which was highly appreciated by the audience followed by a dance competition in different age group categories. Saga Love Story “Kunju Chanchlo” was also performed by Sanjeev Mangotra and Sadhana.
As many as 150 participants from Jammu, Rajouri, Samba and Udhampur districts performed under the guidance of Chief Organizer and Choreog-rapher, Sanjeev Mangotra and Anu Bhardwaj. Vandana Bhagat (Kathak dancer) and Raja Sarfaraz (Bollywood actor, writer and social activist) adjudged the performances.
Noted Dance Choreographers of Jammu— Bhavana Sharma, Alisha Bangotra, Dheeraj, Shallu and Meera, were felicitated in the programme.
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that such events for children and youth of Jammu region, not only create awareness but also provide opportunity to the children and youth of far flung areas of Jammu region.
General secretary, Nirvana Academy, Meenakshi Sharma, said that Nirvana Academy take this opportunity to promote the talent of all districts of Jammu region and shall organize the programme in other parts of Jammu region also.
