JAMMU, Dec 27: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed to Finance Minister (FM) Dr Haseeb Drabu to immediately take steps for provision in upcoming budget proposals for 2018-19 to include financial grants for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State.
NMC president, Subhash Shastri, also demanded inclusion of DA at the rate of 6%, due from July last, as measure of financial relief before the motion is set for the Pay Commission to take effect till March 2018.
“This becomes all the more necessary as Central Government employees and pensioners have already been granted the required DA rate with one more installment of January 2018 being due.” he added. Shastri was addressing a well attended meet of NMC workers here.
He also expressed concern over the conditions being imposed on regularization process in respect of daily rated workers by the high ups vis-a-vis SRO 520. “Seeking documents from the category of staff which has devoted their entire life to departments of J&K Government is neither practical nor humane. Also they have been paid salaries in an aggregate manner over long period which in some cases has run over three to four years. The daily rated workers in many cases been paid only 3/4 months in a year”, Shastri further said.
Shastri suggested a mechanism to determine the eligibility of such workers to present initial enrolment in the master sheet and similar document after ten years of service to arrive at length of service of such workers. NMC hopes the suggestion is taken note, Shastri said.
