NNK stages Dogri play ‘Pachaas Saal Baad’

JAMMU, Feb 24: Natraj Natya Kunj (NNK) Cultural Society here today staged Dogri play ‘Pachaas Saal Baad’.
Based on the Dogri Folk Theatre form of ‘Haran’, this play was scripted by Abhishek Bharti and was directed by Aaditya Bharti.
‘Pachaas Saal Baad’ echoes the plight of today’s women and their constant struggle in society. The main focus of the play was on save girl child, educate the girl child and generate awareness to improve the condition of women in our society.
The play is based on the plight of women and it captures the growing violence on women and society’s heartless attitude towards them.
The play was a kind of collage in which dramatic actions were narrated through theatrical elements drawn from Duggar folk forms like Haran, Kud, Bhaakh, Geetru, Suhaag, Ghodian and these were interspersed with well choreographed compositions in modern idiom of theatre.
The artists who acted in the play were Lalit Sharma, Niharika Sakshi, Surbhi Balgotra, Arun Bral, Ritik Mahajan, Daksh Sagoch, Pratham Sharma, Vaibhav Sagoch, Shivam Chib. Music was given by Abhishek Bharti, Lights were managed by Aaditya Bharti, makeup was done by Niharika Sakshi and the programme was coordinated by Lalit Sharma.
