JAMMU, Mar 5: No Critical Care Ambulance has been provided to any health institution despite release of Rs 5 crore under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM).
Admitting this in reply to the question of PDP MLA Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Minister for Health, Shabir Khan said, “under NRHM, an amount of Rs 5 crore was approved during the year 2010-11 for procurement of 25 Critical Care Ambulances out of which Rs 2.40 crore and Rs 2.60 crore were released in favour of Director Health Services, Jammu/Kashmir respectively. However, the matter was delayed due to court cases and the rate contract could not be finalized”.
“After vacation of court stay, re-tendering was done and now rate contracts are being finalized”, the Minister said.
He informed the House that 2521 posts of doctors and paramedical staff have been created during the past two years in Health Services. In total 602 posts-312 posts of doctors and 290 posts of paramedical staff have been filled up and the remaining posts have been referred to the recruiting agencies for making selection of suitable candidates.
