JAMMU, July 15:  The residents of Jammu West held protest rally, raised slogans against the sitting MLAs of the Jammu city and demanded their resignation, today.
The people protested with empty buckets, traffic disrupted blocked the Janipur -Ambphalla High Court road, disrupted traffic and raised slogans against the PHE Ministry, for the acute scarcity of drinking water in Jammu city. The protestants also flayed the Government for shelving the Chenab Drinking Water Project of Akhnoor  and demanded free of cost drinking water for the people of the State.
Addressing the protestants JWAM president Sunil Dimple alleged that the water was not being supplied in the West constituency for the last six days.
He demanded the visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sanction the funds for the construction of the Chenab water supply project of Akhnoor.
Dimple served 24 hours ultimatum to the PHE Ministry to restore the water supplies in Jammu city failing which a ‘vishal Janandolan’ will be started.
Sunil Dimple appealed the people not to deposit the water tariff this year to the Govt. He demanded to install the fresh new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to overcome the load problem and the curtailment of power.
Others present during the protest were Dr Sham Saroop, Harbans Tandan, Ravinder Mishra, Vijay Khajuria, Deepa Sharma, Joginder Sharma, Brahm Datt Sharma, Rajinder Gandotra, Darshan Sharma, Raj Sharma, Raj Kumar,  Vipan , Mukesh, Viky  and Dev Raj.
