LEH, Sept 28: The Wisdom Evento Sports, an adventure sports promoter held a press conference at Press Club, here today to brief about the second edition of their cycling event titled ‘North Quest Challenge Ladakh 2018’ scheduled for September 31, promoted under the aegis of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI).
The event comprises of Elite Racing participated by 40 national elite riders covering 58 km in 6 laps and Amateurs Racing open for all with registrations open and Children Talent Hunt for student of age group 10 to 16 years for which 100 students have already registered. The races will begin from Shanti Stupa at 6 am on September 31, 2018.
Briefing the media, Stany Wangchuk, Partner Wisdom EventoSports said that North Quest is the first of its kind of competitive Cycling MTB event in Leh, Ladakh. He said that the first edition of North Quest was held in September 2016 during which a talent hunt was conducted for school students and one of the selectee Lekzes Angmo won the gold medal under 14 National Track Championship held in New Delhi in January, 2018.
V.N. Singh, Director, CFI said that the purpose of organizing North Quest event is to introduce mountain biking event in the region.
He said that North Quest will not only encourage local children but it will give a push to cycling sports in Ladakh and get the best of talents from the region in cycling sport.
