JAMMU, Sept 8: North Tech Symposium based on the theme “Capability enhancement of field Army through infusion of technology-based innovations to meet challenges of modern warfare” was held under the aegis of HQ Northern Command today.
The symposium was inaugurated by Lieutenant General DS Hooda, GOC-in-C, Northern Command.
The event was organized to facilitate interaction between DRDO, PSUs, Industry and the Army.
More than 110 equipment manufactures from all over the country participated. The products exhibited by the manufactures were spread over the entire spectrum of defence related equipment, ranging from surveillance equipment, GPS, night vision devices, IT and communication equipment, bullet proof, high altitude and mountain equipment, solar power generators and battery chargers, medical, fire fighting and security equipment.
The symposium provided original equipment manufactures an opportunity to showcase their products and enabled Army units to get an insight into indigenously developed technologies available to enhance their operational capabilities.
The symposium provided an excellent platform to appreciate the immense challenges faced by soldiers on ground and need for the industry to provide tailor made technological solutions.
