JAMMU, Feb 9: Northern Command, Veteran’s Cup 2016 was conducted at White Knight Environmental Park and Training Area (WKEPTA) at Nagrota.
The tournament witnessed an enthusiastic participation of thirty Veterans from in and around Jammu region with some participants as old as 80 years of age.
The tournament was keenly contested by the Veterans over thirteen holes.
Among Veterans the winners were Most spirited golfer was Lt Col GK Raina who is 80 years of age, Best Net score was Lt Col Zorawar Singh and Best Gross score was Lt Col KK Sharma a keen golfer from Nagrota, Maximum pars were by Maj Gen Shamsher Singh, Maximum Birdies on the day by Brig OP Abrol, Closest to pin was Maj IPS Bali, Closest to pin on second shot was Lt Col HS Sambyal and the Longest drive winner was Brig OP Abrol followed by the second Longest drive by Brig PS Charak.
On behalf of Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen DS Hooda, Maj Gen Gajendra Prasad Chief of Staff White Knight Corps thanked all Veterans for participating in the tournament and appreciated their competitiveness, enthusiasm and sportsman spirit.
