KISHTWAR, Feb 22: After Police booked notorious drug smuggler of Kishtwar under PIT NDPSA and lodged him in Jail, SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal has said that Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse.
A handout of Kishtwar Police stated that in view of continuous involvement of Mudassir alias Dagga son of Mehraj-Ud-Din resident of near Om Mehta Road Kishtwar in drug peddling and criminal cases and to save young generations from indulging in addiction of drugs, it was felt necessary to book him under the stringent preventive law.
During investigation of previous cases and through leads of narcotics inputs, Dagga was found involved in various drug peddling cases.
After obtaining PIT NDPSA orders from higher authorities today Dagga was sent to District Jail Kishtwar to break drug trafficking syndicate.
