KISHTWAR, Feb 5: Police here today arrested a notorious drug smuggler from Shakti Nagar area and recovered 52 gram heroin from him.
SSP Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that on a specific information regarding sale of the narcotic substance in a grocery shop at Shakti Nagar area of Kishtwar, a special police team headed by SHO Police Station Kishtwar, Inspector, Abid Hussain Bukhari under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar conducted a raid and recovered heroin like substance from there in the presence of Tehsildar Kishtwar and accordingly the arrest was made.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohd Iqbal son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Keshwan at present, Shakti Nagar, Kishtwar.
In this regard a case in FIR No. 20/2023 Under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation taken up.
