Notorious narcotics peddler nabbed

RAJOURI, Oct 24: Continuing its action against people involved in smuggling of narcotics and luring youth in this unlawful act, Rajouri police today nabbed a notorious narcotics peddler and recovered a consignment and a weighing machine from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Sheraz Ahmed alias Raja alias Billu, son of Mohd Azam, resident of Pahata Thanna of Darhal police jurisdiction. The police said that over a specific information, a team of police from Rajouri headed by Deputy SP Headquarters, Mudassir Hussain and a team of police from Darhal headed by SDPO Thannamandi Khaliq Hussain alongwith personnel of Anti Drugs Squad of police raided a location in the village of Darhal and intercepted the accused.
During search, narcotics powder and tablets have been seized while a mini weighing machine has also been recovered which accused was using in sale of narcotics. The material has been seized while the accused peddler has been arrested and a case in FIR No 95/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Darhal.
