Dr Sumit Mahajan, Senior Consultant, Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy at Apollo Hospital, Amritsar said, “Novo technique for total knee replacement has been launched for first time in Amritsar. This new advanced technique mainly focuses on giving best possible results at very low cost”.
He said now Apollo Hospital Amritsar has introduced Orthoalign system at Apollo Amritsar which requires no up-front cost to use and the surgeon operates a mobile phone-sized hand-held navigation unit within the sterile field. “There is no need for pre-operative imaging or for large image-guided systems inside the operation theatres like in Robotic surgery or conventional navigation system.
