UDHAMPUR, Mar 30: State president of J&K National Panthers Party (NPP) Balwant Singh Mankotia ( Ex-MLA) has declared that Panthers Party would launch statehood movement for Jammu region.
Addressing a group of youth at the party office here today, the NPP leader said that statehood for Jammu is only way out to end the 70 years long discrimination with the people of Jammu province. He appealed to the NPSU activists to gear up their activities for the launch of this movement.
Mankotia further said that the latest example of discrimination came to fore when the Govt of India enhanced the PG seats in J&K State to 70, out of which Medical College Jammu got mere 13 seats while 57 seats went to Kashmir Valley which corroborated the fact that people of Jammu were persistently doled out discrimination in all spheres.
He further added that after the unanimous resolution being adopted by JKNPP for separate state of Jammu on March 23, 2017 during the Foundation Day function, the Party has decided to launch full fledge agitation from 1st April 2017 at Block level in the entire Jammu province.
Later, a committee of Govt Degree College (Boys) Udhampur was also constituted under the chairmanship of Balwant Singh Mankotia in which Ajit Kotwal was declared as president NPSU, Gulshan Singh as chairman , Balwinder Singh as senior vice president, Sourabh as vice president, Akshay, Abhishek Sharma, Kanahiya, Rahul Singh as general secretaries; Neeraj Kotwal, Harish Rathod, Gopal Sharma as secretaries, Tanik Salaria and Abhishek Sharma as joint secretaries, Ravider Singh as office secretary, Anish Khajuria as Press secretary, Subhash Sardalia, Eklavya as cashiers, Vivek and Angad as publicity secretaries.
