A large number of NPP activists led by party chairman and former minister Harsh Dev Singh, assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here in the morning and started protest seeking disbanding of present PSC besides abolition of interviews in the recruitment for non-gazetted posts.

He regretted that earlier select lists also figured that out of 58 candidates in Commerce, 13 belonged to Jammu region, 9 candidates out of 34 in History, 7 candidates out of 26 in Physics, 9 in Psychology out of 27 and likewise in other subjects.
Singh also pointed out highly biased selections in Eco and Statistics, wherein out of 26 candidates selected for Junior Statistical Assistants only one belonged to Jammu region. He further divulged that in Health and Medical Education Department, out of 123 selections of consultants in Radiology, Medicine, Ophthalmology, ENT, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Pathology and Paediatrics only 23 belonged to Jammu region. Likewise in RMSA select list for special Education Teachers released yesterday he divulged that out of 52 candidates, only 14 belonged to Jammu region.
