JAMMU, Dec 17:  National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) today held a protest demonstration against the failure of the Coalition Government to issue Dogra certificate to the Dogra youth inhabiting Jammu region.
The NPSU activists assembled near the Jammu University main gate and started  raising  anti-Government slogans. They also  torched an effigy of Dy Chief Minister Dr  Nirmal Singh.
Addressing the gathering,  Thakur Virender Singh,  president NPSU,  said that prior to elections, the BJP leaders had assured the electorates that the Jammu youth would be issued Dogra certificate so as to facilitate their entry into Army and Para Military forces.   “BJP’s slogan was replicated in its vision document also which categorically assured the issuance of Dogra certificate to Jammu Dogra speaking people.  However  none of the Legislators of BJP raked up the issue in the Assembly and even failed to confront their coalition partner when the latter made a statement refusing to introduce the same,” he said.
Lambasting the BJP for acting as the ‘B’ team of PDP, Thakur Virender said that the students would not tolerate the brazen surrender of the rights of Jammu people by the BJP.  He announced the launch of signature campaign from tomorrow  for appropriate announcements on the subject in the coming session of Assembly.
Others,  who addressed the  demonstration,  included; Lovely Singh, Rishi Badayal, Shubam Jasrotia, Sourav Singh, Sumit Jamwal, Shubam Chib, Rahul Sharma, Bhupinder Singh, Sunny Kotwal and  Keshav Sharma.
