JAMMU, Aug 28: Alleging huge irregularities and bungling committed during the past three years, National Secular Forum (NSF) members on Thursday submitted a memorandum to Prof Devanand, new Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Jammu and sought special probe of all appointments and irregularities.
A delegation of NSF activists, led by president Sukhdev Singh, visited the office of VC Central University and apprised him about various irregularities, bungling committed by various blue-eyed officials who allegedly plundered the students’ funds. In the memorandum, the NSF activists explained that as per CUJ norms, the maximum age for non-teaching position is 62 years but in violation of norms, officers of 65 years were appointed. Moreover, some posts were not advertised and thus appointments were made illegally, they explained.
The NSF appealed the VC to hold an enquiry into the appointments made so far in CUJ besides discontinuing the services of the over aged staff.
The delegation comprised Barket Tahir, Ajaz Shah, Qayoom Malik, Altaf, Anees, Parvinder Singh, Julfi, PP Singh, Washim, Gopal and others.
