JAMMU, Mar 27: NSUI State president, Neeraj Kundan has urged the Government to decongest the SMGS Hospital Jammu.
In press statement, Kundan said that there was overcrowding of patients, especially in Gynae and children wards in SMG Hospital as there are 2 to 3 child patients on one bed. SMG Hospital was decided to be the Mother and Child Hospital of Jammu province but ENT and Skin Departments were also shifted there because of shortage of infrastructure which resulted in increase in number of patients and overcrowding of the hospital, he explained.
“As old Govt Psychiatric Hospital building at Ambphalla is lying vacant and is sufficient to accommodate both ENT and Skin Departments, therefore the Government should shift these two departments there to share the patient load of SMG Hospital,” he suggested.
