JAMMU, Aug 2: NULM in Jammu is moving forward with the ideals of PM Sabka Sath ,Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Jammu Urban Development Agency (JUDA) is running centrally sponsored Scheme named as National Urban Livelihood Mission (NULM) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs .
NULM scheme aims to reduce poverty and vulnerability of the urban poor households by enabling them to access gainful self employment and skilled wage employment opportunities,resulting in an appreciable improvement in their livelihoods on a sustainable basis,through building strong grassroots level institutions of the poor.
Under SMID component of DAY-NULM , self help groups of 10 ladies are formed in each ward of JMC jurisdictions.
Likewise SHG formation was done in Ward no 68 and were provided training by Resource Organiser Sahara Jagriti Manch engaged by JUDA to provide livelihood to the members of SHG . These ladies have earned Rs 25000 in just a period of 1 month by establishing a unit of Ecofriendly green plates which they are selling to Samba and Lakhanpur street vendors.
On spot a check of Rs 13,000 was handover to Ladies of Self help group in the presence of Chief Executive Officer, Deepika Rana, Manager Prachi Mahajan and the concerned community organiser Rajesh Bhagal of Jammu Urban Development Agency along with the Team of Sahara Jagriti Manch.
