KATRA, Mar 30: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi (SMVD), College of Nursing Kakryal, won the overall championship of the 2-day Inter-College Nursing Fest-Tarang-2019, which concluded with the valedictory function held at the Spiritual Growth Centre here today.
Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, who was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions of TARANG 2019.
She lauded the SMVD College of Nursing for organising the event and congratulated the winners of various competitions and the participating students for their talents.
In all, 300 students of the various Nursing Colleges participated in the Nursing Fest. These included Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education, Sidhra; B. R. College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences, Gangyal; Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences, Miransahib; Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing, Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing, Kakryal.
The welcome address was presented by Dr Shailla Cannie, Principal of the SMVDCoN and Pushpa Oraon, Associate Professor presented the vote of thanks.
Rajni Thapa, Organising Secretary of Tarang 2019 read out the activity report regarding the Nursing Fest.
Earlier, in the morning, Dr (Brig) MM Harjai, Administrator of the SMVDCoN, declared open the athletics competitions at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex at Katra.
In rangoli, Renuka Dogra of SMVDCoN won 1st prize, Kirti Thapa of Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education got 2nd prize, while Anjana Chib of BR College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences and Tenzin Dolma of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences shared 3rd prize.
In debate (for), Nandita Khajuria of SMVDCoN won 1st prize, Latasha Sharma of Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing got 2nd prize and Zalin of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences won 3rd prize.
In debate (against) Preeti Verma of SMVDCoN got 1st prize, Pawandeep Kour of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 2nd prize and Anisha Dogra of Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education won 3rd prize.
In street play, SMVDCoN got 1st prize, Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 2nd and Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing got 3rd prize.
In face painting, Nisha Momin of SMVDCoN got 1st prize, Pooja Chib of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 2nd prize and Stanzin Chuskit of Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education won 3rd prize.
In collage making, Parushni of SMVDCoN won 1st prize, Neha Choudhary of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 2nd and Nikita Langeh of Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing won 3rd prize.
In working model, Diksha Sharma and Sonia Choudhary of BR College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences got 1st prize, Kajal Devi and Ayushi Gupta of SMVDCoN got 2nd prize and Insha Rehman and Priya Rani of Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing won 3rd prize. In cultural competition, SMVDCoN got 1st prize, Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 2nd and Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing got 3rd prize.
In the sports competitions, in 100 metre race, Pawandeep Kour of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 1st prize, Priya of SMVDCoN got 2nd prize and Happy Sharma of Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education got 3rd prize.
In 400 metre race, Sakshi Kotwal of B. R. College of Nursing and Paramedical Science got 1st, Vishali Rana of Acharya Shri Chander Institute of Nursing Education won 2nd and Sonika of SMVDCoN got 3rd prize.
In shot-put, Pawandeep Kour of Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences got 1st prize, Priya of SMVDCON got 2nd and Kaneez Fatima of BR College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences got 3rd prize. In 4×100 metre relay race, Stephens Institute of Paramedical Sciences won 1st prize, SMVDCoN got 2nd and B. R. College of Nursing and Paramedical Sciences won 3rd prize.
