NYK organises ‘District Youth Festival-2022’

KATHUA, Oct 21: Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) organized 1st “District Youth Festival-2022” at the Auditorium of Government Degree College, here today.
More than 500 youth hailing from Youth Clubs, Mahila Mandals, Social organizations, Schools, Collages, NSS from 12 different blocks participated in the six competitive events of the Festival.
Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey was chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the Festival by lightening the lamp. In his address, he congratulated the youth for their active participation in celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav as rekindle the spirit of patriotism, national unity and solidarity.
Benam Tosh, Commandant 19 IRP Battalion Kathua was guest of honour who stressed upon the youth to channelize their energy in self-development and national developmental and constructive activities and avail the ocean of new opportunities globally. He also distributed cash prizes, mementoes and certificates to the winners and participants.
In first event (Yuva Samvad), SSP Benam Tosh was guest speaker who guide and motivates the youth to fix the vision and mission and strive to achieve it, while Major Dharamvir Kumar, 162 Medium Regiment, Janglote delivered a lecture on national unity and solidarity.
Principal GDC Kathua, Prof Sumesh appealed the youth to explore and avail all the new avenues of knowledge, skills, training, financial assistance through various schemes and policies of the Government.
Jasvir Singh Rajput, National Youth Awardee, Social Activists, Member DDC, Udhampur also addressed the youth along withSardar Sukhdev Singh (Social activists).
In the 2nd event (Declamation Contest) Samiksha Sharma from Little Angel School stood 1st , Neha Kumari  GDC Kathua declared 2nd and Muskan Thakur from Women College Kathua remained 3rd and were awarded with Rs 5000, 2000 and 1000 respectively and certificates.
In the 3rd event (Poetry), Parth Pandey from KV Kathua remained 1st, Deksha Khajuria of GDC Kathua adjudged 2nd and Meenakshi Devi from GDC(K) stood 3rd and given Rs 1000, 750 and 500 respectively as cash prizes and award certificates.
In the 4th event (Painting),   Palak Hans from Spring Dales stood 1st, Sakshi Bahu of GDC(K) declared 2nd and Sofia Sharma of APS Janglore remained 3rd and were given Rs 1000, Rs 750 and Rs 500 as cash prize and award certificates respectively.
In the 5th event (Mobile Photography), Vinamrata Sharma from Mount Litera Zee School Kathua stood 1st, Ankesh Singh from GDC Billawar adjudged 2nd and Bavin Kanotra from KV Kathua remained 3rd and were given Rs 1000, Rs 750 and Rs 500 as cash prize and award certificates respectively.
In the 6th event (Culture),  Vishal & Group, GDC Billawar stood 1st, Kashish & Group-Manu Shiksha Kendra Rajbagh  was adjudged 2nd and Rajiv & Group- Youth Club Bani remained 3rd and given Rs 5000, Rs 2000 and Rs 1000 as cash prize and award certificates respectively. The 1st winner of each event has qualified for State Level Youth Festival 2022-23.
