poonch, Apr 1: In order to promote sports culture and involve youth with sports activities at Village Level, NYK Poonch organized 2-days District Sports tournament at Govt Higher Secondary School Chandak.
Volleyball, Kabaddi, Long Jump, 100 Meters sprint and 400 Meters Race were held during the event.12 teams participated in Volleyball competition and in the final match, Khan Youth Club, Chandak defeated Imran Youth Club Surankote.
The winning team received a cash prize of Rs 1000 and a trophy, while the runners-up team was also presented a cash prize and a trophy.
In Kabaddi final, Khan Association Chandak defeated Choudhary Youth Club Chandak and won a cash prize od Rs 1000 each and a trophy.
Gurpreet Singh, Senior Major of Army was the chief guest on the occasion and conferred trophy and cash prizes to the winners and runners-up teams.
In his address he appreciated the role of N.Y.K Poonch in promotion of rural sports and stressed upon youth to participate in sports activities especially rural sports.
KK Sharma from NYK Poonch highlighted that NYK is committed to promote rural sports at village level by farming village sports club and providing volleyball kits to affiliated clubs.
Zaber Mughal from NYK Poonch, Coordinated the programme, while prominent among others present on the occasion were Israr Khan, Jameel, Asif, Shah, Nawaz, and Sudesh Gupta were present on the occasion.
