JAMMU, Apr 15: Welcom-ing extension of lockdown, the leaders of Sikh organisations today appealed the public in general and Sikh community to particular to follow the lockdown in letter and spirit for containing COVID 19.
A telephonic meeting of various Sikh organizations of J&K was organised under the chairmanship of Sardar Mohinder Singh, chief organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Seva Society J&K, Sardar Darbinder Singh Singh president Shiromani Akali Dal J&K and Sardar Kulwant Singh Khajuria joint secretary Shiromani Akali Dal J&K in which various issues confronting general public due to lockdown were discussed.
They said the Sikh community is known for its sacrifices and services to the humanity, so any indiscipline and untoward happening create obstacles in their service to humanity. The Sikh organizations appealed the administration provide all essential commodities to labourers class which is worst affected due to countrywide lockdown.
They appealed to the owners of private companies, agencies, mall, shops and other institutions to please pay the salaries of workers working with them before closing of the institutions due to sudden lockdown on compassionately grounds.
