Odisha defeats HP by 7-0, Tamil Nadu beats Maharashtra by 2-0 in women QF’s

72nd All India Police Hockey C’ship underway

JAMMU, Feb 4: Five male and four female category matches were played in the ongoing 72nd All India Police Hockey Championship organized by J&K Police at KK Hakku Hockey Stadium, here today.
In the first match of the day between Gujarat Police and CISF in which CISF won this match by 8-0 goals. Vishal Jit Singh scored (1st & 2nd goal), 3rd goal scored by Vishal Rana, 4th goal scored by Lokesh Bora, 5th & 6th goals were scored by Aditya Chhetri, 7th and 8th goals scored by Nithin.
Player of the match was declared Anjel Minz for his brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Supinder Deep Singh, General Secretary Hockey J&K.
In the second match of the day played between Uttarakhand Police and Odisha Police which was won by Odisha Police by 4-0 goals. (1st , 2nd & 3rd ) goals were scored by Ashok Lakra and 4th goal was scored by Roshan Bahla. Player of the match was declared Birandra Lakra.
Chief Guest of the match was Dr Daud Iqbal Director Physical Education, Sports University of Jammu.
In the third match played between Maharashtra Police and ITBP. The match was won by ITBP by 3-2 goals. Jaswinder Singh (1st & 3rd goals), 2nd goal was scored by Ankit. Player of the match was declared Ankit for his brilliant performance. Chief guest of the match was Ranjit Singh Chib, SSP Dy CO JKAP-8th Battalion.
In another match played between Karnataka and Punjab, Punjab won by 7-3 goals. Navpreet Singh (1st goal), 2nd, 4th goals scored by Jaskaran Singh, 3rd goal scored by Kanwarjeet Singh, 5th & 6th goals were scored by Varinder Singh and 7th goal was scored by Balwinder Singh. Player of the match was declared Balwinder Singh for his brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Rajinder Singh (Former President Hockey, India).
In another match played between Jharkhand Police and Telangana Police, Jharkhand Police won by 6-1 goals. Sudharshan scored (1st goal), 2nd, 4th & 6th goals were scored by Robert Dhodray, 3rd goal was scored by Sunit Lakra and 5th goal scored by Titru Oraon. Robert Dhodray was declared player of the match for his brilliant performance.
In the women’s category quarterfinal match between CRPF and Uttar Pradesh. CRPF won by 2-1 goals via shootout. Goal scorer was Princhilla Tirkey (1st goal) in the 2nd minute, whereas Uttar Pradesh Police equalizer goal scored by Shail Kumari Gupta in 38th minute of the match. Player of the match was declared Kalayani Kndo for her brilliant save in the shootout. Chief Guest of the match was Suprakash Adhikari ED NHPC.
In another match played between Tamil Nadu Police and Maharashtra Police, Tamil Nadu Police won by 2-0 score. The goal scorers were Mageshwari and Shobiga Raghaivi. Player of the match was Mageshwari, declared for her brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council.
In the match between Himachal Pradesh Police and Odisha Police, Odisha Police won by 7-0 goals. Player of the match was Ashim Kanchan Barla for her brilliant performance. Chief Guest of the match was Ajay, Manager KK Hakku Hockey Stadium.
In the last match of the day played between Haryana Police and SSB, SSB won by 5-0 goals. Chief Guest of the match was Birendra Lakra (Olympian) of Odisha Police.
Pertinently, four quarterfinal matches in male category will be played tomorrow between CISF and Jammu & Kashmir Police, Uttar Pradesh and BSF, ITBP and CRPF and Punjab and West Bengal.
